Glitters got its start almost a half-century ago at a kitchen table in 1980. Since then, the business has only grown. Passed down from founder Diane, expanding to incorporate a whole team of jewelry experts with a love of the art of jewelry, a deep knowledge of the business, and combined decades of experience: Debbie, Patti, Andrea, Robin, and Bridget, the "Glitters Girls."

They may know the business inside and out, but there’s even more to being a multigenerational jeweler than that. It’s about the pride that comes with being part of a great community and the joy shared with every customer. It’s about leaving a positive mark on this community through customer service that’s more about relationships than transactions. It’s about our connection to the craft, to customers, and to the community.  

Connection to Craft

For centuries, jewelers passed down their skills from master to apprentice, from father to son, and, in our case, from mother to daughter. Jewelry is such a special profession because it’s part art and part science, part working alone on a design or at the bench and part connecting with customers through some of the most meaningful and symbolic purchases of their lives. It’s such an all-encompassing industry that it really helps to have that family connection.

Our lifelong immersion in the craft of jewelry makes this job both a passion and a calling. We’ve stayed on top of decades of changing styles and trends. It’s how we put together our curated collections and design custom pieces that perfectly complement our customers’ sense of style.

Connection to Customers

That’s the second part of what it means to be a multigenerational jeweler: the special relationship we’ve developed with so many of our customers. Whether you come in for a chat or shop online, we’ll welcome you like family. That’s how we built this business, and that’s how it will thrive for generations to come.

When you’ve been in business as long as we have, you see your customers grow up and their children become customers themselves. You get to be there for all life’s most important milestones: birth, graduation, engagement, anniversaries, birthdays, retirement. You only get to become a multigenerational jeweler when you have multigenerational customers. To them we say, we’re grateful to have played even a small role in your biggest moments.

We love getting to know our customers and picking out the pieces we know will fit their style perfectly. You know that feeling when you look at a piece and you know it’s the one? There’s nothing like that moment connection with a work of art. It’s just a little bit of metal and stone, but somehow, it’s able to capture everything you’re feeling but can’t quite put into words.

We love putting our experience and knowledge to work in making those moments happen for our customers. We do that by making shopping for jewelry fun. After all, jewelry helps us celebrate life’s most important moments. We live for making those moments as joyful as possible.

Connection to Community

Local businesses are the lifeblood of the economy. When you shop local, the money you spend stays in your community. That money allows local businesses to hire local employees. More business and more people working means a larger tax base to improve our schools, roads, and other services that make our city a great place to live.

Being not just a local business, but one that’s been a community staple for over forty years, is a big responsibility. It’s also an honor. That’s why we put such a premium on customer service: if we treat every customer like a friend or family member stopping by our house for a chat, we know we’ll remain in this community for generations to come.
