Trust Is Our Most Precious Treasure

At Glitters, our most valuable treasure isn’t gold or diamonds—it’s the trust we build with you. We connect authentically to celebrate life’s biggest moments with genuine curiosity and care. Discover how we turn transactions into lifelong relationships.

The most valuable thing in our shop isn’t gold or diamonds. It’s not even something we sell. It’s something we’ve built up slowly over decades, doing our best to earn it from every customer we have a chat with, whether that chat results in a sale or not: trust.

When Glitters founder Diane first went into business for herself out of her kitchen in 1980, she already had years of experience in the jewelry industry. Customers, however, didn’t know that. She had to build a reputation for herself one life-changing piece of jewelry at a time, sale at a time, one conversation at a time. Each sale was an opportunity to deal honestly, to honor commitments, to build relationships. And there were many opportunities, many sales—so many, that Glitters outgrew one location after another before finding a home in Prairie Village.

How Do You Know Who You Can Trust?

There are lots of places you can buy jewelry. These days, you don’t even have to leave the house. Shopping online makes it even harder to know who you can trust. Here are some questions to ask yourself when evaluating a jeweler:

  • Are they a brick and mortar business, or are they online only? A physical location, especially one that’s been around for decades, is a good sign that you’re dealing with someone trustworthy.
  • Does their collection seem curated, or are there just a bunch of random pieces in the cabinet? A jeweler who knows their stuff will have developed a sense of taste. They have an identity and they know what their customers want, and the pieces they carry reflect a particular sensibility.
  • Do they take an interest in me and the person I’m shopping for? Do they want to really get to know me and help me make this occasion perfect?

Our brick and mortar business has been around for nearly half a century, real people serving other real people, establishing relationships, nurturing repeat business. There’s a story behind every person who walks through the door, and it’s our job to help them tell that story. It’s a big responsibility, but we approach it with a sense of fun and genuine curiosity.

In that time, we’ve developed a curated collection of luxury jewelry. Our team brings together decades of combined knowledge, spanning generations and different stylistic sensibilities. We bring it all together into a coherent whole based on making sure you find an authentic expression of your personal style that makes you look your best.

We see everyone who visits this website the same way we regard everyone who walks through the doors of our shop: a real person with real needs. We’re here for you just like we’re there for our brick and mortar customers. If you ever have any questions, give us a call or drop us an email (which you can find on our services page) or reach out on Facebook or Instagram, links to which you can find at the top of the website.

It’s About Being True to Yourself

We’ve been in business for a long time and  built a lot of lasting, rewarding relationships. You build trust by providing great products and great service every day. But most of all, we’ve built up that level of trust just by being ourselves. We know who we are and what we stand for. Because we’re honest with ourselves, you’ll know exactly what to expect from us. Trust happens when real people connect authentically. You can’t fake it; you just have to be it.

Engagements, graduation, retirement, all of life’s most important moments are celebrated with jewelry. You need someone you can trust to handle that responsibility. We understand and embrace the responsibility, and we approach it with a sense of joy and fun, because we simply love what we do.
